This website exists to advocate for the perspective it presents and to provide a safe community of conversation for those who wish to honestly consider that perspective for their own lives. Thoughtful comments, discussion, and criticism of that perspective are welcome. This includes the expression of opposing views by those earnestly engaged in the discussion. It does not include posts that merely advocate for other perspectives without good-faith engagement with the concepts and perspective of the site. While the moderators prefer not to be heavy-handed, posts that they feel significantly degrade the quality of the conversation will be dealt with as deemed appropriate.
Please be courteous and respectful. Passionate debate for and against ideas is welcome, but not against the people who hold those ideas. Please be civil in your language. Pause before you post! Are you emotionally worked up? Then let yourself calm down before you post something you will later regret.
Stay on topic. Take time to sense the thrust of a discussion before you join in. Threads that wander far afield are not helpful to those not involved in the detour. If you find that one topic is leading into another, please consider redirecting that part of the discussion to an appropriate existing topic or to a new topic. It is fine for a topic to die out when the discussion has run its course.
Please help keep things organized and uncluttered. Do not post the same content in multiple places. You need not immediately comment on everything you read; wait for what really engages your interest or touches you deeply. You need not sign your posts; the system will identify you.
Spam and direct advertising are not allowed. Please do not post advertisements. You may post links to promotional content that is relevant to the discussion in which the link is posted, but posts that are effectively advertisements may be deleted at the discretion of the moderators.
The registration of any user who, in the opinion of the administrator, often fails to abide within these standards, who is abusive of other users, or who disrespects the intentions of the site may be blocked with or without warning.
